Take a look at this short video of two of our fairly recent members, Phill and Lewis. We asked them various things about Form, food and training with us.
This is what Phill had to say when we talked to him:
"I'm 28 and a computer programmer. My favourite post work out meal is steak, sweet potato wedges and asparagus.
There were a couple of factors that lead me to joining Form, firstly Lewis kept saying how good it was pretty much every day at work and secondly I wasn't able to motivate myself at the gym, so to lose weight felt I needed a change.
I've been at form for 2 and a half months now. It's completely different to what I've done in the past. I've put a lot of weight on in the last 20 months. I ran 5 marathons in 2014/15 and weighed about 90kg. The training was mostly running and nothing else. Since I finished my last one in January 2015 I decided to relax for a few months and then got a PT. With the PT I just ended up doing the same stuff every week and it just bored me.
With Form I've really enjoyed how welcome every coach has made me feel. It's clear that you all know what you're talking about and have time for every member in a class. The workouts are always different and I always come away tired but feeling motivated to come back the next day. I think excites me is not knowing what I'm in for until I get there and also that I'm going to be pushed to improve.
Additionally I feel like I am moving in the right direction to lose weight now and that excites me. One of the main differences from anywhere else is how much the coaches all love their jobs and that really comes across to me.
It's also the little things, you all know everyone's name, the tips you get doing a skill, the recognition that everyone is at a different level and little pushes to do more than we think we can."
And Lewis added....
"I've been at Form for about 4 months now. Since I stopped playing football on a regular basis I've been looking for another way to keep fit. I've tried a regular gym, running, Insanity and even yoga but nothing seemed to stick. As soon as I heard about Form I knew it was something I wanted to have a go at, so I signed up for a taster session and started the same day.
When asked about what makes Form different Lewis said....
Well it's training at a gym which is a massive difference in itself for me! The biggest difference is the quality coaching I get every time I come in for a session, it's one thing to go to a gym, but as I'm learning it's a different thing altogether to actually know what you're doing there.
And we asked Lewis about what excites him the most about his training?
Just the massive progress I've made since I started at Form. I'm lifting heavier weights, jumping higher and running faster than I ever thought possible. Sometimes I can't believe the progress I've made over a single session, never mind over my entire time here.
Finally we asked Lewis about what he likes to eat post-workout?
As I normally train in the later session, I normally stick something in the slow cooker beforehand so I can eat as soon as I get in. Right now my favourite is fajita chicken, basically chicken, veg and spices. I'm no Gordon Ramsay but it tastes pretty good..."
We have a lot of new members coming to Form at the moment but Phill and Lewis have stood out with their persistence and determination when it gets tough. We're enjoying seeing your progress and priviliedged you chose us!
Keep it up guys. We love having you around!
